Introduction:

The page gives you information on the IC function. Please read it over when you can and then give it to the person you designate as the IC. We keep in touch with the IC group using e-mail. You can include more than one person to receive e-mail from us if you like. We will try to keep folks as informed as possible about changes, advances, tips etc.

You are set up now with the user name and password you gave me (remember words are entered in with all lower case letters). The IC should call us at 216-229-3050 for some training, or if they like, they can try it out on their own (after reading the page about "Maintain your Website & Troubleshooting).

What's an IC?

Internet Correspondents, or ICs as we call them, are the individual or individuals from each parish / school /agency who act as the liason between their organization and the "internet world". The ICs have several very important roles.

+ As part of the IC duties, these individuals are in charge of maintaining the webpage(s). They enter and update information on the web page.

+ As liason, they monitor e-mail that is sent to the organization via the diocesan wide csnmail e-mail system. Each organization has a "generic IC e-mail address" that is available to all the IC's in their e-mail address area via the Organization Button that appears in the Addresses area. When general e-mail arrives in these IC e-mail boxes, the ICs distribute it to the appropriate individuals in their organization.

+ IC's also help verify various information items for their organizations -for example, "is a person a member of the parish", or "is a certain individual still a member of the parish staff" etc.

+ Internet Correspondents also help to coordinate other web individuals who help maintain the webpages. Webpages can be broken up into different areas that, because of the content, are maintained by different individuals. The ICs help to coordinate these assignments. If there are multiple pages, the IC often will maintain the front page and act as a "instructor" for others who maintain their own individual ministry/interest page.
